A lovely river, but........

Not what we expected today. We were all set to go to the Small Isles from Mallaig today (the trip I had been most looking forward to and the reason I chose this particular holiday).
Unfortunately the skipper of the boat phoned as we were having breakfast to say the weather had really closed in at Mallaig and the sailing was cancelled! Instead we went up Cairngorm Mountain on the funicular and spent a couple of hours in Aviemore - where I took myself for a walk along the river Spey - not the same at all but we can't change the weather.
