A two walk day - both with surprises

Walked with D in the morning around St Ives and saw a barn owl fly past - was too slow to get a shot -and a group of herons atop a tree at the back of the garden centre

Joined Bingley Walkers are Welcome in the afternoon for a walk around Micklethwaite - discovered we couldn’t cross the canal - the swing bridge had developed a fault and couldn’t be shut - meaning there was no access back to Bingley for either pedestrians or motorists - had to retrace steps to Morton to cross

No chance of phoning from this box in Micklethwaite - it contains a defibrillator - a novel use
