The Glaven Valley
Yet another glorious day. We went looking for adders on Salthouse Heath but didn't come across any. Maybe it was almost too hot for them.
We went on down to Glandford and had a light lunch in the Art Cafe. The copper beeches are just deepening in colour and the candles filling out on the Horse Chestnuts.
After lunch we walked up the Glaven Valley. It was beautiful in the afternoon sun. We saw butterflies, two herons, a red kite, a whitethroat (identified for us by a passing local), a swan, and many other creatures besides.
Lovely.
