Has he got a Proper Name?

I believe this is a Bee.  That is as far as my knowledge goes.  Other than that a lot of them have been visiting us over the last few days.  Other than that, my Blipfriend BlackTulip has postulated that it might be a Miner Bee.

Now isn't that an interesting name?  Conjures up all sorts of images...

Anyone like to disagree (dodgy) with Black Tulip?  I like to know what I am looking at and extend my knowledge of these creepy crawly things...
