Sunshine in Glasgow!

I failed to get up early! Was awake at 5:30 and again at 7:30 but then got back to deep sleep and only surfaced at 10:30!
This meant I had again to cut down my plans, as I do hate rushing in the morning.
I left at 1 pm and thought I would try the car boot sale in Polmadie, but the darn sat-nav fooled me and I took a wrong exit following its advise (although I knew better!!!!) So I wasted some time in the traffic and parts of Glasgow I am not familiar with!
When I finally arrived the place was deserted and in the process of being cleaned!
So I left and went to run the errands I had to.
The weather was beautiful but it took a bit to realise and actually take it for real.
On the way back I stopped at Lidl to get some toilet paper.
When I was queuing I saw a guy in front of me with a canon 5 D hanging off his shoulder.
I talked to him as I also had a 5D hanging on me. He said he’d carry it around every day and I answered so do I.
In the end we stood about 1 hour in front of Lidl and talked. His name is James and he is a fellow photographer, specialising on street photography in Glasgow.
He also shoots a lot of film! Something I would love to get into again soon.
We talked and talked until we both needed to go, but not without exchanging email addresses.
If you want to check out his work, look here.

I drove home and the weather was indeed so nice, that I just dumped the stuff in the flat and got out again. I fancied a coffee and some sunshine.
At Sara’s I got it both. While sitting in the sun in front of the Café I faffed about with my camera and tried to understand the features of AI Servo and AI Focus setting.
I did not figure it out and will have to read the manual again. I am sure I did it before, but it apparently did not stick.
Sara joined me for a bit then she locked up and I walked the long way home.
At home all the neighbours had gathered in the garden, so I got myself another coffee up stairs. I actually attempted a flat white for the first time. The “latte art” was a bit rudimentary, but it did not look bad at all, especially not for the first try.
My posh coffee was noticed by Bernie, a fellow coffee snob and visitor of the same places, asking who was the barista in our house hold. I was slightly flattered :).

The grill was still on and I decided to join the party and ran up to get the steak that was ageing in the fridge since a couple of weeks and some salad.
It was nice to catch up with everyone.
We usually never make it to those gatherings, because we are always too late with work or everything else.
In the end it was only Anke and Richard from the ground floor flat and we chatted for a while before we carried our belongings back inside.
Richard asked if he could borrow my 5D MkII for some filming and I got it for him. However I could not explain it, as I never film with my cameras. He needs to find it out via U-tube, I am afraid.
After more chatting in their kitchen, I finally got upstairs just before 10pm.
Again I did not touch my Portuguese ….. tomorrow it has to be!

Blipping one of my hip and table shots - not great but I totally missed to take a pirture of James ....
