The clean up begins
They have been working tirelessly in our town to clear the streets, clean up the debris and chop all the fallen trees and branches. Thousands of people still without power and this means night time driving is very hazardous. With no lights on the streets or coming from the houses it's VERY dark and all that debris in the roads has to be cleared.
Needless to say, there were no trick or treating on this Halloween day. The Governor of our State has postponed it till Monday hoping by then the roads and sidewalks will be safer and perhaps power will be restored.
The President came to our State today to see the damages from the Hurricane. Our beautiful shoreline will need lots of work to be restored. It's one of the best things about living in NJ and it makes me so sad to see the pictures of the beaches that I've come to love be in such a state of disarray. Hopefully things will be on their way to being repaired in time for the upcomming year's summer season.
