Fairfield Halls

This is really for my 'April in Portugal' friends.  We all grew up in Croydon and this venue features large in all our musical memories, be it for children's concerts with Arthur Davidson or performing there ourselves as children.  It's currently getting a £30 million make-over, more about it here.

We all now realise how extremely lucky we were to have had the music service and opportunities that we took for granted in Croydon in the 70's - 80's.  Very many of my friends from that time perform, teach, arrange, compose or are involved with music and it currently seems to be be a much less appreciated place to be.

Fabulous memories though and enduring friendships made because of it.

Next time I'm in Croydon this facade may well have disappeared so it had to be my photo for the day.
