What a gorgeous day! Archie and I sat out in the sun for almost an hour. Then Annemique came to collect him for the day. She hasn’t been for ages, having a proper job now. He was very pleased to see her. They went through the Hermitage, and the Meadows, and met a friend with a labradoodle, and generally had a super day.

We took advantage of his absence by going out for lunch. We just popped to a nearby pub for the 'Jazz Lunch - a chap tinkling on the ivories, murdering playing old jazz standards, but pleasant enough.

We wandered back home, I went the direct route, and JR went the shops route. When Annemique and Archie came back, she was easily persuaded to join us for a G&T in the back garden sunshine. As I was making the drinks, there was a cuffuffle outside - Archie had sensed someone was on the other side of the wall... Yes! It was Elizabeth (It's her dad's flat's garden). She was persuaded to come and have a G&T too. A most pleasant time was had by all.

Elizabeth went home, and Annemique, who by this time had decided to walk her bike home, had another G&T. A neighbour came out to hang the washing. She too was persuaded to join us, and another pleasant time was enjoyed with her, We almost ran out of ice. But we had plenty of gin, fortunately.

What a fun day.
