Time Team ..........

Well today we became budding archaeologists!:))
We spent a full morning in a field by St.James’s Church in Shaftesbury. It really was hard work - our pit was a metre by a metre . We got down only two layers of topsoil but found a stone feature and A PIECE OF MEDIEVAL POTTERY ( see right) .
Most of the second half of the morning was spent recording. Taking photos and doing a scaled diagram . It was fun doing it with an old colleague from Frome as well as Paul plus we could share the work . However we don’t feel competent too be let loose on our own just yet! We could be doing this anywhere in Shaftesbury!!!
