Hidcote Manor Gardens.May 2018

The weather yesterday was kind once more, so we took ourselves off for another visit to these beautiful gardens,  situated deep in the rural countryside of  Gloucestershire. 
This time the intention was to see the tulips in flower. Two weeks ago they were on the cusp of opening out, and we were not disappointed. 
I took many photos as once again we wandered round. 
The hour's drive to get there is so worth the effort, passing glorious panoramas of fields painted with yellow splashes of rape seed, hedges of white hawthorn blossom, verges of new green grass where dandelions and bluebells are all mixed together. The trees beginning to wear their newly opened leaves, so fresh and clean in springtime. 
A delight to savour.     
Later, on our way home, as we were in slow moving traffic alongside a small wood, I saw a magnificent buzzard fly down to perch on a branch then sit and survey the scene around him. 
A photograph taken through the car window would not have done him justice. Sometimes it is best just to be an observer and store it in the memory, or the moment is lost.
