Last Ever

This is the last ever Saturday edition of the Liverpool Daily Post.

There's a lot of guff in the paper about how this will enable them to improve the customer experience during the week (and to be fair, some of the proposed changes look quite good) but the reality can't be escaped. Not enough people are buying.

I was talking to one of the layout designers last night. She was saying how weird it felt never again to have to spend her Friday evening setting out the paper.

The Daily Post is in trouble. Its moved a lot of its operation away from Liverpool to save costs. And now this. I really hope it survives. Its a good paper and a valuable resource to let people in Liverpool know about what's going on. If that disappears, then a vital part of Liverpool goes with it.
