Souter Lighthouse

Today we visited this lighthouse in Tyne and Wear. Husband climbed the 76 steps to the top. I didn't! The first in the world to be designed and built to be powered by electricity. This morning we went to an RHS partner garden called Birkheads Secret Gardens. Fabulous place, with great facilities (clean loos and a lovely cafe) lots of different themed areas of the garden. Spent a most enjoyable couple of hours here.
Back down the A1 tomorrow, this has been a very different sort of holiday for us, but we've both thoroughly enjoyed it. The weather has been very kind. This morning we walked about just in tshirts. Windier later on, but really been very lucky these last few days.
