Infinity & Beyond
We'd spent a lot of time in the last few days like this lone swimmer, leaning on the wall of the infinity pool and gazing across to the distant islands.
Sadly, today we had to head home and leave the view behind.Just as we were about to check out we received a message to say that our flight from Mauritius had been delayed for 4 hours which meant we would miss our 2.30 am connecting flight in Dubai and that the next available flight wasn't until 3 pm tomorrow afternoon. This would mean arriving at Heathrow late at night and catching, if we're lucky, the last coach which would get us to Bridgwater at 2.30 the next morning and getting either Chris or Kate to pick us up from there.
We got on to the local agent to explain how awkward this all was for us and they made several phone calls to the airline but the only hope they could offer was that the airline might be able to arrange something better once we got to the airport. When we got to Mauritius airport I pointed out that there were still tickets on sale on the internet for flights at 7.45 in the morning but the airline officials claimed they were all sold out, so we were left waiting for our flight and hoping we could sort something more convenient out when we got to Dubai. Not what you need at the end of a holiday.
