The mists of Halloween
My yoga session was really good this morning and I felt that I had been able to iron out my creases and concentrate on positive thoughts which was just as well as the inclement weather required full waterproofs and a cheerful demeanour for my afternoon walk.
Five minutes in to the walk and Bruce looked like he was having a really bad hair day but he was oblivious and scurried around enjoying all the wet leaf litter on the ground and the smells they were hiding. As I started the walk I was contemplating not having a blip at all today as it was all so wet and dank - now that I have reached my 365 I am adopting the approach, sensibly taken by others, that it is OK to miss a day or two! However as I reached the summit where an indicator points out the names of all the surrounding hills to be seen from the vantage point, I met a young Dad with his five year old daughter who were visiting from Northumberland. The mist at this point was fully down so they simply had to believe me when I said that the view from this point was exceptionally good. As we were chatting and enjoying watching the dogs rootling about in the heather, the wee girl pointed to the distance and said "Look, I can see something" and true enough the mist started to lift enough to reveal dark shapes looming through the greyness. The little girl was thrilled and said how spooky it all looked - so I thought, that's it, I have a spooky Halloween blip after all! Mind you I had to wait until the mist lifted a bit more as the camera refused to focus on mere dark shapes in the greyness! .... No sense of the moment!
