Broken
It's been a while since I've been down to the weir at Hirst Mill, and apparently five years since I last blipped it, so here you go. The weir was badly broken up in the Boxing Day floods a couple of years back but is still a significant feature on the river.
I'd wandered up river a ways while waiting for the Salts v Steeton match to kick off, a return fixture for the 6-6 that I contrived to miss last week. Salts had already won the league title (West Riding County Amateur Football League Premier Division) but Steeton were still vying for second place. It was a closely fought game with Steeton winning by a single goal.
