Purple Hyacinth Dreams at Childhood's Gate

A thing that is new at the Arboretum in this year's spring bulb show is the variety and number of hyacinths on display. The children's garden, Childhood's Gate, is chock full of them, in just about every color of the rainbow.

You don't even have to get close to them to smell their sweet aroma. And for a purple lover, it was almost paradise. This was the view from the ground: like something out of a deep purple hyacinth dream.
