Carpet of Leeks

A beautiful day in the making.  I had an early medical appointment, so I had to get BB ready and out bright and early.  I was so pleased to make it in time, and BB got to school early – result!  I was probably the quickest appointment all day for the doctor, as I was in and out in no time.  I then picked up some bits and pieces for lunch and headed home to hang my washing out and to go for a run.

I had a lovely run – five miles in the sunshine, admiring the countryside as I went.  Once home there was more washing to hang out.

BB came home from school very tired.  He had wanted to go to a friend’s house, but it didn’t work out.  We had a quiet couple of hours, then I dragged him out for a river wander in the sunshine – which I think he enjoyed.

It was home for cello practice, tea and then back out for Scouts, and I had a rest!

The woods near the river are carpeted in few flowered leek – a non-native, invasive species.  The extra shows it in more detail.
