Its the Way It Is

Grianghrafadoireacht

Is the Irish word for photography.

De Ceadaoin is the irish word for Wednesday.

I don’t know Cailleach and I don’t know who runs blipfoto - but I do know that they all love photography, - I am pretty sure of that.

As I am not up to speed on what is going on (I live in a corrugated tin shack on the beach - joking but I wish) I just want to say that this is a fun place to be and maybe some gentle mediation is needed.

Anyway I have blipped photos of photos before particularly polaroids as I love ‘em - so I am a sinner in that regard.

My blip today was taken outside the Gresham Hotel in Dublin by Arthur Fields (the man on the bridge) many decades ago

Please look at link as it is a great slice of Dublin life.

On the right is my Dad - a quiet, gentle natured man but a snappy dresser with his cousin Gerry (a likely lad) - who were friends all their lives. This photo is very old and taken by Arthur Fields - who gave you a ticket and you went to his studio and picked up your photos and paid him. I get a serious lump in my throat when I look at this

Arthur would have taken many photos of me and my ridiculously giggly friends as teens - but we thought it was so stuffy and hey who wants to see photos when you get older (sighs) so never went looking

Like the Dude - I hope Blip and Cailleach abides
