Beltane Blessings

Our first full day here and the Sun has come out to heat the day; a Beltane celebration! Merry May Day, and happiness to all who celebrate the rite of fire and feast. We’ve dropped Wendy off at the airport and there are no guests in the gites for the next week, so we effectively have a holiday to enjoy.

Although poppies have secured some traditional appearance later in the year, their time is now, or soon, depending on the seasons. Down here the fields are full of red poppies or bright green growth on the grape vines. Sometimes both together!

So here’s to Beltane, and the fecundity of nature in the regreening of the land. May you have fun and frolicking and forever treasure the living landscape. Cheers!
