The Aftermath

Boy, what a difference 24 hours can make!

Last night we were sitting in the dark listening to the howling wind and rain not knowing what the morning would bring. It was an interesting night and at times quite frightening. The power went out at around 5 pm Monday and wasn't restored until 11:30 this morning. Thank goodness we had plenty of candles, flashlights, batteries and a generator that we ran every couple of hours to keep the fridge cold. But we have made it through the storm, although not completely unscathed.

Unfortunately, we have lost two large pine trees from our back yard. One tree was actually our neighbors that fell between our houses. The other tree fell into our back yard completely missing our garage. We both dodged a bullet there!

While talking to the neighbor down the street, he mentioned seeing this house and fallen tree. Thankfully this is not our house!! My thoughts are with those that were not as fortunate as we were.
