Castle Rock

Well, this morning was fantastic! After all the problems yesterday, today it was just a question of picking which image to post. We woke to this sheet of cloud below us, walked up the hill, and looked down on a sea of cloud where normally would be Heathcote, Christchurch and Lyttelton Harbour. I had to go back home after the first few minutes, though, to get a card for the camera, when I realised I hadn't put it back in again last night.

Unusually, we met another couple on the top of Mt Pleasant. They turned out to be visitors, but are from France, and doing a house swap with someone living in Mt Pleasant. So they are staying here for 3 weeks, then picking up a camper to travel around. It's good to know that even the damaged parts of our city are attracting visitors again.
