I think there's a Toronto bylaw that no self-respecting hound may wear a coat until it's minus thirty degrees - although a few pampered pets get an exemption to wear them in the Fall . . .

We used to have a very large Airedale when we lived in Johannesburg. Whenever it rained - and the summer storms were quite fearsome - Bruno would dash outside, tear about like a maniac, then raise his head to the skies with his eyes closed and mouth open, gulping it all down . . .

Must run in the family. I swear I saw Jools doing the same thing late last night during the visit of Superstorm Sandy; but I can't be too certain because it was dark, my head was buried beneath the blankets and I was whimpering . . .
