Quod oculus meus videt

Almost Ready

I took a different route for the morning walk, finding myself at the edge of a newly constructed golf course.  I remember when the planning application was received at the local council. There was suspicion amongst my planning colleagues that it would be used as an excuse to import large amounts of inert waste, charging for disposal of each lorry load, as had happened in other parts of the district.  It's a well known ploy to make money from these sorts of development and in some cases the courses have never opened.

As the footpath crossed the course I decided to have a look and I have to say they've done a really good job of forming the various holes.  It looks ready to open, though there is no clubhouse as yet.  All of the greens are formed, with velvet smooth grass, the fairways are lush and there is plenty of wildlife using the pools.  A lot of effort has gone in to creating an interesting course, even providing concrete paths for buggies to drive around.

After that I ended up finishing the sleeper walls in the garden before starting putting together some clothes for the forthcoming holiday.  Not long now.
