Israel & Palestine trip day 5
Today we visited the Israel Museum and saw the Dead Sea Scrolls and more artefacts going back such a long time. All so fascinating and makes one marvel at HISTORY.
We climbed the hill to the Herodian, on a hilltop in the Judean wilderness, another of King Herod the Great's palaces and fortresses built in 37B.C and he is said to be buried here when he died in 4 A D. It is a great feat of architecture with massive cisterns and long winding tunnels.
Bethlehem Manger Square and church were full of people so we just looked from the outside.
Tonight we sleep in Bethlehem.
