Fun at the Spring Festival
Dear Diary,
The weather improved quite a lot so I made the drive over to Tamworth, NH to see the spring festival at the Remick farm. It was really delightful. Lots of new baby's, like Hazel the calf born on April 6th and tiny goats born just three days ago. My, they were vocal! A very patient cow allowed children to give her a spring brushing and larger goats took treats from tiny hands. A miniature horse got a pedicure with lots of curious children looking on.
My favorite part of the day was the Morris dancers who performed ancient dances to welcome spring and chase away winter. If you haven't heard about these ancient English folk dances, you can read it a bit about it here. I loved the singing and whirling around and it certainly added to the festivities of the day and we all joined in clapping and stomping to scare winter away!
