Fortnum and Mason

This is the view looking down from the third floor over the splendidly designed staircase.

I didn’t buy anything but I did note that they were selling asparagus (small bunches) for over £8 in comparison to the beautiful top grade produce on sale in Lichfield for £2.50. We’re so lucky.

I was meeting a friend for lunch and a catch up, followed by a visit to the Monet landscapes exhibition at the National Gallery. Excellent.

But has anyone else noted how entry prices have suddenly shot up ? I’ve never seen £24 admission before (no concessions) and a hike to £5 for an audio guide !!

EDIT : The National Gallery and all the other galleries are FREE to go in, as ever. It’s their special exhibitions that have risen.
