Kingsday in Holland

We Dutch love celebrating anniversaries and do that for the King too! Dressing up in orange and taking to the city's streets where bands play, bars sell beers, kids and parents sell off the gear they no longer need... we Dutch take to the streets on Kingsday and love that partytime!

Up till 5 years ago when his mother reigned we celebrated Queensday on the 30th of April, the date she started her reign and the same date she handed it over to her son; but he likes to celebrate Kingsday on his birthdate.

btw... my grandchild keeps us in wainting :)
