Managed to go to the allotment with the keys this time, so put in a good shift. Mostly trimming grass and more digging, but the soil seemed surprisingly dry so got the hosepipe out onto ours and did Eric-next-door's strawberries that he just planted out before going into hospital on Monday for his new knee. At one point I was hailed by hazelh who was passing on her bike again!

This ladybird was the first I've seen at the allotment - at first I thought there was something wrong with it as it was repeatedly opening and closing its wingcases and extending its wings. Eventually it folded everything up and rested. Perhaps it had only just emerged from its larval stage and was trying out all the novel moving parts.
