My Magnolia
It's not as satiny-smooth or perfectly pink as the one I blipped the other day from Logan Botanic Garden. But this one's growing in MY garden, and doing pretty well this year.
This is Magnolia stellata 'Leonard Messel', and it was given to us as a house-warming (perhaps that should be 'garden-warming) present twelve years ago. And relaxed, some would say untidy, is its style.
I didn't think it would survive, but it has grown slowly and flowered shyly till this year. At the moment it's a mass of fluttering pink starry blossom. Obviously it likes a long cold winter.
Thanks to BikerBear for continued hosting of the Flower Friday challenge.
