What's In The Water.......

.......that bleaches the stones?
It is a bit worrying really

There was an interesting blue blossom this morning. I must keep an eye open and see if there is any more appears.
I have to say though, I prefer the regular stuff.

We were passed by one of those strange big dogs that confuse PD so much.
He has absolutely no interest in playing with them - or even saying Hello - I am glad to say but he always seems confused by their size.

There may have been shadows - but the wind was really cutting. It is really annoying when you feel like your ears are going to fall off from the cold for half the walk and sweat like polar bear in the tropics for the other half.

We went shopping for a new outside light.
Why do the manufacturers of the same design of light feel they have to change the distance between the mounting holes and indeed the size of them?
It means I am going to have to drill more holes in my brickwork and fill the old ones...... which means I also have to buy a new masonary drill and filler (which I will have to try and colour match in some way).
Damned annoying.

An inter-club competition at the camera club in the evening.
Not a brilliant turnout considering there were 4 clubs involved. However, those that stayed at home did not have to suffer the complete drivel that was coming out of the judges mouth..............
"I have seen so many of this subject (the Kelpies) that it is hardly worth marking them" and "I don't like pictures like this" are not the sort of things that should be coming out of a judges mouth  --  or when there is nothing but praise for picture and then gives it the lowest mark of the night. Complaining bitterly about people relying on filters in Photoshop to give a sense of movement to a shot which is obviously done 'in camera'  and as for the  picture of a wild polar bear ........ the snow being the wrong colour, didn't think it looked like the zoo, should have got it to turn round. I nearly wet myself laughing but I am sure the author of the picture wasn't.

I have never heard so many members telling the competition secretary not to invite him back.
