The saga of the sore paw

Once upon a time, there was a Vizsla, called Cousteau. One evening, he went for a run in the forest. He ran around like a mad thing, from Grandad to Mummy and back again. Whilst running around, he managed to bang his paw on something and it hurt.

That night, he slept and he slept and he slept and in the morning he couldn't walk on his poor sore paw, so he held it up and generally looked pathetic.

He realised that that he got lots of attention when he held his paw up and generally looked pathetic, so he carried on doing it.

Anyway, took him to the vets this arvo and found out that he has indeed bruised one of his toes and that he needs anti-inflammatories and at least a week of NO (read it and weep) walking. How the heck do you keep a three-year-old Vizsla from exercising for a whole week?

He's been getting lots of cuddles and fusses from us and his Grandparents and is currently resting from all that attention in the garden in the sunshine.

He'll be fine.

Any suggestions as to how to keep a Vizsla down for a week would be gratefully received.

BTW, Canterbury took this shot without me knowing of me and my boy chilling out. Note how Cousteau has made sure that he is centre stage and has the poor paw in the air just so you all know that he is injured!

New Zealand's Next Top Model?

Wouldn't have him any other way. :)
