My Mate

After visiting my mum in hospital after she got rushed in with what turned out to be gallstones, I headed back home to meet my mate Roy and wife Sue who are staying the night.

I met Roy when we started Comprehensive School together in Cardiff. A whole pile of us from school, including my brother, joined the police service. After doing a Law degree, Roy served in Thames Valley Police and finished as Chief Inspector. I was best man at his wedding last year.

We went out for a meal whilst I kept up with the Derby v Cardiff City match which Cardiff lost. We now need to win our last two matches to guarantee promotion. It's going down to the wire!
