ANZAC Day

My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess,

It is ANZAC Day today. It's a public holiday and there are signs and symbols everywhere.

These crosses took my breath away a bit. They seem to go on forever.

We are having a quieter day today. Feefs and Shetland Dad are picking up Little Nipper and spending the day with an old friend of Feefs. We are meeting up with them later for dinner though.

It will be good to see Little Nipper. He is an eccentric little chap and always fun to talk to.

Feefs and Er Indoors have, so far, managed to avoid actual physical violence toward Shetland Dad, but he's been treading on thin ice at times. His habits (striding around aimlessly and whistling) had both of them gritting their teeth this morning.

Last night Feefs and me escaped out to a horror film. As you may remember, she is my Horror Buddy* from way back and because her husband also doesn't care for scary films, she was eager to go and see A Quiet Place with Emily Blunt.

Actually, it was really good. It is not particularly scary, but I don't think it is trying to be. It's about this family living in the middle of nowhere being terrorised by monsters that are blind but have terrific hearing. As a consequence, the family have to whisper and tiptoe throughout.

It is INCREDIBLY tense. At one point I looked around me and saw the whole audience with their hands involuntarily clapped over their mouths in sympathy.

So that was excellent. We also saw a preview for this Kiwi film which I think is definitely one for Princess Normal.

* I have forgiven her for the "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2" incident.
