Chapter House

The fantastic boss in the middle of the vault of the Chapter House, they would have dangled a lamp through the hole!
The chapter house was built in the mid-1200s and is one of only 3 octagonal examples in Scotland. A great space. We will have a visit from Capella Nova later in the season,who will sing a plainchant mass in here, using the music from the Inchcolm Antiphoner, an original choirbook made in about 1300 at the Abbey.
