Gibside

Visit to Gibside yesterday - a National Trust estate in the Derwent Valley several miles from Newcastle.  The estate was previously owned by the Bowes family - relatives of the Queen Mother.  The main house is just a shell but there is a lovely chapel and walled garden to visit along with many different and varied walks.
