The Berkeley Ensemble

One of the lovely things that music has done for Dan is to breakdown the barriers that can form between academic years in school; he has a lot of friends, all musicians, from the years above and below him.

This evening, some of those older friends are having their exam compositions recorded with The Berkeley Ensemble, and friends and relatives are invited along. Dan asked if I fancied going with him, which I did.

My one reservation was that the recording was taking place in the Harlequin Theatre, which is like a sauna in hot weather and, boy, it was warm today! But, in fact, the day had started to cool off quite rapidly by the time I got over there and it was quite cool inside.

The performances were wonderful, as were the compositions. The evening only lasted 45 minutes, which rather suited my attention span, but consequently I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute.
