Heron Away

The friendly neighbourhood heron was quick to fly as I walked around the pond this afternoon.  I managed to get about 8 frames of him as he flew and am quite pleased with all of them (highly unusual for me!).  This is my favourite despite the 'noise' of the trees in the background.  He just seems to pop a bit.  I hope he gets used to me...

Sad news out of Toronto today.  We think of our country being so safe so it shatters our perceptions momentarily. I feel for all those who lost their lives and for everyone whose lives will never be the same.
