Paddling hard!

Last year there was no sailing on the loch due to an excessive quantity of harmful blue green algae so it was good to see some activity on the water this morning .... conditions were less than favourable though.

I spoke to a couple of the staff and they're hoping that the cold winter and some treatment that has been carried out will have killed off much of the weed.

I watched the instructor roping the two canoes together ... great knot work. He told me that the first knot was a Larks Head and the final one a reef knot. Although I have used the Larks Head many times I had no idea that it was a proper knot with a name.
