Epimedium
Epimediums are in full flower now. This is one of two which are the only survivors of a group of about five which were planted quite a while ago. In a nearby border were a few more, which became so vigorous that we had to remove them before they smothered the edge of the lawn. The flowers are very delicate, typical spring flowers, and appear without one noticing at first. Then they lift up their heads and put on a show for a week or two, before disappearing for another year. The reddish tinged leaves provide good ground cover in shady areas.
I did some re-potting this morning, and there's more to do. It's generating a heap of old compost which will be good for mulching the borders later on.
