St George's Day
A pleasant walk around Goit Stock this morning but the weather was a little dull. Lots of fresh greens in the woods plus Wood Anemones (not open) and the odd Bluebell. We also watched a couple of Dippers in the beck (Harden Beck).
I thought a shot from the walk would be my blip today but later, after singing in the Bingley Community Choir at the Methodist Church, we came out to see the flag of St George flying in one of the nearby gardens. (A bonus that it is surrounded by attractive spring flowers)
Had to be my blip for today as we don't seem to be encouraged to show this kind of patriotism, unlike other home nations. We certainly fly the Yorkshire flag whenever appropriate here but aside from today and international football, the flag of St George seems to be non PC.
Even more appropriate today as we've just heard that we have a new Prince of the realm who will be fifth in line to the throne.
