Frankfurt - Saturday
On Saturday we had morning coffee at Trudi's place with her relatives who were over for the party. Having known her for over 20 years, this was the first time I have seen where she lived. It is a lovely part of Frankfurt, attractive architecture, useful local shops and restaurants but easily walkable to the city centre.
Robin and I went to the shops in the afternoon but it was too hot to try anything on (29 degrees) and prices were about the same as at home. Then it was Trudi's Birthday party in the evening. We had a fabulous 4 course meal and then a jazz band for dancing and unfortunately we had to leave before the disco. Great fun was being had by all. She made a lovely speech in German and English about how pleased she was to have us all there and she talked about having an "attitude of gratitude", I reckon her positive outlook on life and her warm heart is what keeps her so incredibly young looking. I don't think she would mind me telling you it was her 70th Birthday!
