Diary of an Edinburgher

Bologna Day Two

Steps:11,691. 7kms

Another leisurely start to the day. We’ve had to partially close the shutters, because the sun blazes in at 6am.. What a problem!

Another day of just wandering. We're getting to know our way around, or at least, JR is... we wandered quite far from our upmarket area, into plenty of graffiti.

After a croissant and coffee breakfast (you can see our cafe from on high) we went up on a builders' lift to where they are repairing the church roof. It's a building site, so we had to sign a waiver, in case we tripped up and sued them. The city is flat, with only two towers left, one leaning. There could have been up to 180 of them! They were built as status symbols.

After another wander - looking for the Tourist Information - we came across the same wee place we had lunch in yesterday, so sat down again and shared a cheese platter. The meat platters were piled high and not at all enticing to non-cured meat lovers.

Another rest back at our flat (it's so handy) before popping out again for an evening wander. People were rock'n'rolling in our local park, all the dogs were out. The most popular dog is the dachshund. Dogs are allowed everywhere, even in supermarkets. And there is NO dog poo on the pavements.

Archie has been out with Elizabeth today, so all is well in his world.
