Storks!

On our last morning in Extremadura Steve took us to The Stork Wetlands and Los Barruecos.

It was Fan-Stork-Tastic!!

Whilst the 'Humedal de la Ciguena' (Stork Wetland) is all fenced off, Monumento Natural Los Barruecos is a fabulous area of granite boulders, big as houses, surrounding a lake supporting all manner of bird life including stork, heron and egret.

In the wetland, the stork build their nests on the platforms provided, in Los barruecos they perch on the granit boulders, but in the town of Malpartida de Caceres they set up home on the church, houses and even the monuments!
