A moot point

OK, hands up who thought they were real deer?
I did! Really thought my luck was in when I saw these two standing by Scone Palace. Wasn't until I got closer (and they didn't move) that I realsied they were crafted from willow. Should have gone to specsavers!

This is Moot Hill, beside Scone Palace, the site of the enthronements of Scottish kings. The mound is said to have been created by lords carrying the soil there in their boots and, having sworn allegiance to the king, depositing the soil from their land in this place to form a mound. Sounds like a messy business.

On a more up to date note, youngest murmuration and I went to see Skyfall this evening. Ooh, I didn't see that coming.... (great baddy this time).
