Crossmyloof Bread Festival
A great event in Shawlands celebrating the life and work of Neale Thomson who opened the Crossmyloof Bakery to provide good, affordable, nourishing bread for his workers in the 19th century.
There were talks by local producers of bread and milk, guided walks round the area highlighting the work & philanthropy of Neale Thomson and (of course) bread and other quality produce for sale. We were entertained by the music of the Glad Choir and drummers as well as the pupils from Annette Street school drumming group.
