Garden in a glass
What a glorious day!!
Up with the lark this morning......after a goodnights sleep. We have had all our carpets cleaned today, perfect day for having all the windows and doors open to aid drying too :-)
Hub and I walked into town for a couple of hours, and what d'ya know, we found ourselves in the cafe for lunch, oops!! We didnt abandon the carpet cleaners, they are friends of ours.....so were happy to let them just get on with it.
Once we were back and they had finished, we all spent an hour sat in the garden chatting, before they went on their way.
Hub and I have spent all afternoon doing this and that in the garden, some more clearing out of the pond, hubs planted up his tomatoes, Ive cleaned the garden furniture, wiped down all the windowsills.....and any other little jobs we could find to keep us outdoors, giivng the carpets time to dry off :-)
We decided to have a glass of something and enjoy the last hour or so before going in to watch my team in the FA Cup Semi Final.
I didnt have a blip, but luckily noticed the garden through the glasses as hub put them on the table...."dont drink that!" I said, disappearing to get my camera ;-)
I cooked a ham joint, glazed with honey, soy and apricot jam. The plan was to have ham, egg, chips and peas, but we sat out rather longer than planned and polished off the bottle of fizz before coming in to watch the last half hour of the footy, which thankfully we won..... so we decided to have a sort of mezze, warm ham, various cheeses, fresh crusty bread, cucumber, tomatoes, and coleslaw for instead ;-)
The forecast downpours/thunderstorms still havent appeared here.........and its pleasantly warm :-))
