After the sunset

Today I forlornly watched a spectacular sunset from my office window. This was the aftermath an hour later, the estuary was as still as a mill pond. I can only imagine what it looked like at its peak, the sky was like flowing lava.

The view is of the hill of Arnside Knott with the lights of Arnside, reflecting in the waters of the Kent estuary.

Our thoughts are with the people of the eastern seaboard of the USA as they brace themselves for the arrival this evening of Hurricane Sandy.
