Eine Pusteblume (Dandelion Clock)

It was a day of death for dandelions.

I started getting rid of the thousands that seem to have appeared from nowhere.  I thought a bit of work outside in the sun might help with the recovery process.  But.  I didn't reckon with my body finding a new way to let me down.  I can't isolate what exactly happens, but certain movements trigger huge amounts of pain in my shoulder.

There was swearing.  In English.  I'm much more imaginative when it comes to swearing in English.  My German swearing is still pretty tame.  And given that swearing helps with pain, I can call it therapy.

The dandelions were not thrown away though, they were then given to a neighbour for her tortoises.

I've probably explained before but the German name "Pusteblume" is quite a sweet compound.  "Blume" is simply flower, and "puste" comes from the verb "pusten" meaning "to puff".  Which is pretty much what every kid does when they see these.
