Daffodils

In what feels like a very short time, we've left the ice and snow behind and the swans are nesting on campus.

I'm unclear as to why the daffodil is there. I like to think it was a romantic gesture from a suitor, but cast aside in cygnine rage at having built the nest right next to the path the humans use. Again.
