Big Meadow

The temperature was down to something minus-ridiculous overnight but it was beautiful and bright today – very cold still but with clear skies and sunshine and a picturesque dusting of snow in places. We drove to the Visitors Centre at Big Meadow to get maps and things and then hiked around the Rose River Trail past the Rose River Falls and added a (slightly steep) detour up to the bigger Dark Hollow Falls. Back at the Tap for dinner and tonight’s entertainment literally did feature the local High School English Teacher singing ‘Country Roads…’ Absolutely priceless.
